WORM: Maslan IRC Backdoor Connection
This signature detects a host infected by the Maslan worm attempting to join an IRC server for the purpose of joining a botnet. Attackers can use IRC to remotely control compromised hosts for a variety of purposes, including theft of financial data or denial-of-service (DoS) attacks.
Extended Description
The Maslan worm opens a backdoor on a compromised computer and steals the user's personal data, such as online banking and payment information.
