This protocol anomaly is a VNC FrameBufferUpdate message that has a conflicting hextile encoding bitmask. The VNC protocol specifies that hextile encoded messages that set the ForegroundSpecified bit to ON must set the SubrectsColoured bit to OFF.
RFB datagrams containing FOREGROUND_SPECIFIED and SUBRECTSCOLORED bits that are both ON or both OFF constitute an RFB protocol violation and could produce unexpected results on the VNC client. The error may be a result of a network transmission problem or a malicious session-hijacking attempt by a third party.
