TFTP: Message Too Long

This protocol anomaly is a TFTP packet that exceeds 512 bytes of data. RFC-1350 specifies that TFTP messages should have a maximum data length of 512 bytes, excluding the TFTP header.

Extended Description

TFTP packets containing a data portion larger than 512 bytes is a protocol anomaly, and may indicate that an attacker is attempting to exploit a vulnerability such as a buffer overflow. The impact of malformed TFTP packets is entirely dependent on the implementation of TFTP.
