This protocol anomaly triggers when it detects a SNMP message with a missing value for an object. SNMP messages should use a special NULL value to indicate an object has no value.
The severity and impact of anomalous SNMP packets depends entirely upon the implementation of the SNMP handlers, and the underlying operating system in use.
