SMB: Invalid Calling Name Length


This protocol anomaly is an invalid calling name length in the NETBIOS header that encapsulates an SMB. NETBIOS names are 16 bytes and can encode to a maximum of 34 bytes.

Extended Description

The detection of this anomaly could indicate a configuration error or an attacker is attempting to inject malformed packets into the network.
