SMB: Invalid Called Name Length

This protocol anomaly is an invalid called name length in the NETBIOS header that encapsulates an SMB. NETBIOS names are 16 bytes and can encode to a maximum of 34 bytes.

Extended Description

A NetBIOS header that contains a called (remote) name field that is less than 16 bytes or greater than 34 bytes constitutes a protocol anomaly. This condition could indicate a network configuration error, or that a malicious attack involving the injection of malformed NetBIOS datagrams is underway.
