This protocol anomaly is an LPR control file with a sub command banner length that exceeds the user-defined maximum. A banner string is typically the filename of the print job. The default banner length is 32; you can change this setting in the Sensor Settings Rulebase>Protocol Thresholds and Configuration>LPR>Banner string length.
LPR control files with sub command banner lengths that exceed the user-defined maximum, or 99 octets, is a protocol anomaly that could indicate an attack. They could also be the result of a network configuration error.
