LDAP: Extended Request Reqname Empty


This protocol anomaly is an LDAP extended request message, where the length of the response name was found to be zero. Extended requests are private LDAP extensions. The request name specifies the type of request.

Extended Description

Improperly-formed BER data structures could cause LDAP applications to exhibit unexpected behavior, potentially exposing security flaws such as buffer overflows in software components that process the data.
