IP: Invalid Option Type
This protocol anomaly triggers when it detects an IP packet with an unknown IP option. Because some IP options are dangerous (and others have only limited use), you may choose to drop these packets.
Extended Description
The appearance of dangerous or unknown IP options could indicate a network configuration error, or that malicious activity, such as a denial of service attack is underway.
