This signature detects attempts to exploit a known cross-site scripting vulnerability in Wordpress. It is due to insufficient validation of user-supplied input in the Local Market Explorer Plugin. A remote attacker can exploit this by enticing a target to open a malicious URL link. A successful attack can result in the compromise of Web browser cookies associated with the site, and modification of user information.
The Local Market Explorer plugin for WordPress is prone to a cross-site-scripting vulnerability because it fails to properly sanitize user-supplied input. An attacker may leverage this issue to execute arbitrary script code in the browser of an unsuspecting user in the context of the affected site. This can allow the attacker to steal cookie-based authentication credentials and launch other attacks. Local Market Explorer plugin 3.1.1 is vulnerable; other versions may also be affected.
