This signature detects attempts to exploit a known vulnerability in some W3C Amaya parsing engine. A successful attack can lead to a buffer overflow and arbitrary remote code execution within the context of the client.
W3C Amaya is prone to a remote buffer-overflow vulnerability because the application fails to perform adequate boundary checks on user-supplied input. Attackers may leverage this issue to execute arbitrary code in the context of the application. Failed attacks will cause denial-of-service conditions. Amaya 11.0 and prior are vulnerable.
