HTTP: Microsoft Office Word Malformed File Processing Buffer Overflow

This signature detects attempts to exploit a known vulnerability in the Microsoft Office Word Malformed File. A successful attack can lead to a buffer overflow and arbitrary remote code execution within the context of the server.

Extended Description

Microsoft Word is prone to a buffer-overflow vulnerability. An attacker can exploit this issue to execute arbitrary code in the context of the currently logged-in user. Failed exploit attempts will likely result in denial-of-service conditions.
