HTTP: Computer Associates PSFormX Unsafe ActiveX Control

This signature detects attempts to use unsafe ActiveX controls in Computer Associates PSFormX. An attacker can create a malicious Web site containing Web pages with dangerous ActiveX controls, which if accessed by a victim, allows the attacker to upload and download files from the victim's computer, potentially resulting in arbitrary program execution.

Extended Description

Computer Associates PSFormX ActiveX control is prone to multiple remote code-execution vulnerabilities Attackers may exploit these issues by enticing an unsuspecting victim to view a malicious webpage. Successfully exploiting these issues will allow attackers to execute arbitrary witin the context of the application that uses the ActiveX control (typically Internet Explorer).
