FINGER: Line Buffer Overflow
This protocol anomaly triggers when it detects a FINGER line that is too long. This can be a buffer overflow attempt.
Extended Description
If a Finger query exceeding 255 characters in length is detected, this could indicate incorrectly configured software or that a buffer overflow attack against the finger service is underway.
