HTTP: WinMount ZIP File Remote Buffer Overflow

This signature detects attempts to exploit a known vulnerability in the Winmount. A successful attack can lead to a buffer overflow and arbitrary remote code execution within the context of the application.

Extended Description

WinMount is prone to a remote buffer-overflow vulnerability because the application fails to perform adequate boundary checks on user-supplied data. An attacker can exploit this issue to execute arbitrary code with the privileges of the user running the affected application. Failed exploit attempts will result in a denial-of-service condition. WinMount 3.3.0401 is vulnerable; other versions may be affected.
