HTTP: VideoLAN VLC Stack-Based Buffer Overflow

This signature detects attempts to exploit a known vulnerability against VideoLAN VLC. A successful attack can lead to a stack-based overflow and arbitrary remote code execution within the context of the affected application.

Extended Description

VideoLAN VLC media player is prone to multiple remote code-execution vulnerabilities, including multiple buffer-overflow issues and a format-string issue. Exploiting these issues allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary machine code in the context of the affected application.
