This signature detects attempts to exploit a known vulnerability in the MoviePlay lst File. A successful attack can lead to a buffer overflow and arbitrary remote code execution within the context of the application.
MoviePlay is prone to a remote buffer-overflow vulnerability because it fails to properly bounds-check user-supplied input before copying it to an insufficiently sized memory buffer. Exploiting this vulnerability allows attackers to execute arbitrary machine code in the context of the affected application. MoviePlay 4.76 is reported vulnerable; other versions may be affected as well.
