HTTP: EMC VMware IntraProcessLogging.dll Unsafe ActiveX Control
This signature detects attempts to use unsafe ActiveX controls against EMC VMware. An attacker can create a malicious Web site containing Web pages with dangerous ActiveX controls, which if accessed by a victim, allows the attacker to gain control of the victim's client browser.
Extended Description
Absolute path traversal vulnerability in a certain ActiveX control in IntraProcessLogging.dll 5.5.3.42958 in EMC VMware allows remote attackers to create or overwrite arbitrary files via a full pathname in the argument to the SetLogFileName method.
