This signature detects attempts to use unsafe ActiveX controls in the Samsung NET-i Viewer msls31.dll. An attacker can create a malicious Web site containing Web pages with dangerous ActiveX controls, which if accessed by a victim, allows the attacker to gain control of the victim's client browser.
Samsung NET-i Viewer is prone to a buffer-overflow vulnerability because the application fails to perform adequate boundary checks on user-supplied input. Attackers may exploit this issue to execute arbitrary code in the context of the application using the ActiveX control (typically Internet Explorer). Failed exploit attempts will likely result in denial-of-service conditions.
