This signature detects attempts to use unsafe ActiveX controls in Moxa SDK. An attacker can create a malicious Web site containing Web pages with dangerous ActiveX controls, which if accessed by a victim, allows the attacker to gain control of the victim's client browser.
Moxa ActiveX SDK is prone to a remote stack-based buffer-overflow vulnerability. Attackers can exploit this issue to execute arbitrary code within the context of an application (typically Internet Explorer) that uses the ActiveX control. Failed exploit attempts will result in a denial-of-service condition. Moxa ActiveX SDK 2.2.0.5 is vulnerable; other versions may also be affected.
