This signature detects attempts to use unsafe ActiveX controls in DiViS-Web DVR. An attacker can create a malicious Web site containing Web pages with dangerous ActiveX controls, which if accessed by a victim, allows the attacker to gain control of the victim's client browser, resulting in a user-level arbitrary code execution.
Chance-i DiViS-Web DVR System ActiveX control is prone to a heap-based buffer-overflow vulnerability because it fails to bounds-check user-supplied data before copying it into an insufficiently sized buffer. Successfully exploiting this issue allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code in the context of the application using the ActiveX control (typically Internet Explorer). Failed exploit attempts likely result in denial-of-service conditions.
