This signature detects attempts to exploit a known remote file inclusion vulnerability in the Olaf Noehring The Search Engine Project (TSEP). It is due to insufficient validation of user-supplied input. A remote attacker can exploit this by enticing a target to open a malicious URL link. A successful attack can result in arbitrary code execution and loss of sensitive information.
TSEP is prone to a remote file-include vulnerability because it fails to properly sanitize user-supplied input. An attacker can exploit this issue to include an arbitrary remote file containing malicious PHP code and execute it in the context of the webserver process. This may facilitate a compromise of the application and the underlying system; other attacks are also possible. TSEP 0.942 and prior versions are vulnerable to this issue; other versions may also be affected.
