This signature detects attempts to exploit a known vulnerability in the Internet Download Manager. A successful attack can lead to a buffer overflow and arbitrary remote code execution.
Internet Download Manager (IDM) is prone to a remote buffer-overflow vulnerability because the application fails to bounds-check user-supplied data before copying it into an insufficiently sized buffer. An attacker may exploit this issue to execute arbitrary code within the context of the affected application. Failed exploit attempts will result in a denial-of-service condition. This issue affects IDM 5.15 Build 3; other versions may also be vulnerable.
