HTTP: Compface .xbm File Remote Buffer Overflow
This signature detects attempts to exploit a known vulnerability in Compface. A successful attack can lead to a buffer overflow and arbitrary remote code execution.
Extended Description
Compface is prone to a remote buffer-overflow vulnerability because the application fails to perform adequate boundary checks on user-supplied input. Attackers may leverage this issue to execute arbitrary code in the context of the application. Failed attacks will cause denial-of-service conditions. Compface 1.5.2 is vulnerable; other versions may also be affected.
