HTTP: Browse3D sfs File Parsing Buffer Overflow


This signature detects attempts to exploit a known vulnerability in Browse3D. A successful attack can lead to a buffer overflow and arbitrary remote code execution within the context of the targeted application. Failed exploit attempts could result in a denial of service condition.

Extended Description

Browse3D is prone to a remote buffer-overflow vulnerability. The vulnerability occurs when the application handles malformed '.sfs' files. Attackers can exploit this issue to execute arbitrary code within the context of the affected application. Failed exploit attempts will result in a denial of service. Browse3D 3.5 is vulnerable; other versions may also be affected.
