This signature detects an FTP session where the client requests access to a Windows C: drive. Normally, FTP creates a virtual root directory not tied to the root directory of the underlying operating system. This protects sensitive files from being inadvertently served. A successful attack could result in sensitive information disclosure or arbitrary code execution.
