FINGER: Binary Data in Host


This signature detects binary client-to-server data on FINGER connections. Client-to-server flows of FINGER should not have binary data, and the presence of binary data can indicate a buffer overflow or tunneling attempt.

Extended Description

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability could cause arbitrary code execution or a security policies violation.
