This signature detects attempts to exploit a known vulnerability against RCA Digital Cable Modem. A successful attack can cause a buffer overflow resulting in a denial-of-service condition.

Extended Description

The RCA Digital Cable Modem DCM425 is prone to a remote denial-of-service vulnerability. Successful exploits will cause the device to crash, denying service to legitimate users. Due to the nature of this issue, it may be possible to leverage this vulnerability to execute arbitrary code but this has not been confirmed. The RCA Digital Cable Modem DCM425 is vulnerable; other devices may also be affected.
