This signature detects attempts to exploit a known vulnerability in the Lucent Technologies Portmaster router. All versions are susceptible. Attackers can remotely send malformed data to a telnet port, causing the service to terminate.
Portmaster is a router by Lucent Technologies formerly known as Livingston Enterprises. Portmaster is subject to a denial of service. If a remote attacker sends malformed data to a telnet port on the Portmaster Router, the service will stop responding. A restart of the service is required in order to gain normal functionality
