This signature detects attempts to exploit a known vulnerability in the Linux Kernel. It is due to a divide by zero error while handling the Max Response Time in IGMPv3 queries following IGMPv2 queries. A remote unauthenticated attacker could use this vulnerability to cause a denial-of-service condition (kernel panic) by sending an IGMPv2 query followed by a single IGMPv3 query with zero Max Response Time.
The Linux kernel is prone to a remote denial-of-service vulnerability involving the IGMP protocol implementation. Attackers can exploit this issue to cause a kernel crash, denying service to legitimate users.
