This protocol anomaly detects an IRC channel name length that exceeds the user-defined maximum. The channel name is an argument for the JOIN, PART, TOPIC, and INVITE commands. The default channel name length is 64; you can change this setting in the Sensor Settings Rulebase>Protocol Thresholds and Configuration>IRC>Channel length.
A channel name longer than 64 bytes should be detected.
